In honour of Her Maj’ Queen Elizabeth not dying for sixty years, here’s a playlist of some of the best of British. It’s a collaborative Spotify playlist, so feel free to add a few of your own in there!
We thought now was as good a time as any to plug this again. For those of you who use Spotify (which I imagine is most of you) we have our own collaborative playlist for anyone and everyone to add to. The only stipulations are that it has to be what you consider to one of the classic songs of all time, and try to choose around five, just to get enough variation. Simple as that!
Here we go, another new sort-of feature of the site for you lot to get involved with. Hitsville Classics is essentially a collaborative Spotify playlist (much like our Christmas song one) open to any and all our readers. The concept is, everyone adds somewhere between one and five songs that they consider bonafide, 100%, five big gold star classics. Eventually, and hopefully, we’ll end up with an intriguing and eclectic mix of music and opinion. For the nosey ones amongst you, my five picks were “Bigger Than Us” by White Lies, “Avril 14th” by Aphex Twin, Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”, the Manics’ “Faster” and “This Charming Man” by The Smiths.

Bah humbug to those who say it’s too early for the Christmas buildup. It’s exactly four weeks ‘til the big day itself, and we think that’s more than enough time to revel in the merriment and festive spirit. So, in order to properly celebrate Christmas, we here at Hitsville (with the help of our good friend Ste) are giving you the Hitsville Collaborative Christmas playlist. Already 76 tracks strong, the playlist is open to all its subscribers to add to. There are already a bunch of crackers in there, so get moving to have your favourite Christmas songs in there.
