eleventh hour

If you do one thing today, it’s go out and enjoy the sunshine. But if you do one more thing, it’s to come back inside and listen to this; the first full track from Manchester girl group Pins. This isn’t like either of the Mancunian sounds we’re used to hearing. There’s no laddish swagger, nor is there any cold metropolitan melancholia. “Eleventh Hour” is raw, tribal and hypotic, akin to Warpaint and The Velvet Underground. The band acknowledge how likely they are to get pigeonholed, with lazy comparisons to Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls already flying around, but this foursome have a far more exciting verve.
